What these programmes actually are
Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts & Nevis and Saint Lucia each operate investment migration programmes. Approved real estate is one qualifying route among several, and the property must be on a government-approved list.
Requirements, minimum investment levels and holding periods change from time to time. Anything you read — including this article — should be confirmed with a licensed agent and an immigration attorney before you commit.
What they do not promise
An approved purchase does not guarantee approval. Applications involve due diligence, government fees separate from the property price, and processing periods measured in months.
Resale is also different. Approved properties usually carry a minimum holding period and can only be resold to another qualifying applicant, which affects both liquidity and price.
Where property choice still matters
Treat the home as a home first. If the citizenship route disappeared tomorrow, would you still be pleased to own it? Buyers who answer yes rarely regret the purchase.
